The Business Crime Reduction Centre employs a team of highly trained Business Crime Reduction Advisers who visit businesses in the region to offer free and impartial advice on security matters.
This advice generally falls into two parts – the physical security of the property e.g. fencing, cameras, alarms etc. Second, the Advisers also provide information on ‘cyber security’, that is ensuring the businesses computer and online systems are secure in order to protect sensitive data.
The Business Crime Reduction Centre works closely with the four police forces in the region and many of the security initiatives are carried out jointly. For example the Business Crime Reduction Centre is linking with South Yorkshire Polices Security and Intelligence Network website to provide its members with details of stolen metals.
The Business Crime Reduction Centre is funded by Yorkshire Forward the Regional Development Agency.
